Sharon Husmoe, 83, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026, in Bremerton, Washington. 

Sharon was born on August 16, 1943, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Joseph Ryan and Margaret “Peggy” (Black) Ryan. She grew up in Port Townsend, Washington, where she graduated from Port Townsend High School. During her high school years, Sharon held several class officer positions and was voted both “Best Dancer” and “Class Flirt”, although she may have always considered those to be the same award. Her quick wit and lively personality were evident even then. 

Sharon went on to live in Seattle and Bothell, Washington, where she spent many years working for the Everett School District, primarily at the district office. 

On November 16, 1963, Sharon married Jerry Husmoe, beginning a marriage that lasted more than 51 years until his passing on January 31, 2015.

 Sharon also played an active role in Mill Creek Little League, supporting the dozens of baseball players who came through her backyard over the years. She welcomed them with generosity, encouragement, and often homemade chocolate chip cookies, becoming a familiar and caring presence in the lives of many young athletes and their families. 

After retiring, Sharon moved to Arizona, living in Phoenix and later Goodyear. While she enjoyed her life in Arizona, the greatest joy of those years was being close to her granddaughters, Amanda and Ashley. For more than 20 years, spending time with them was at the center of her life. She was a devoted grandmother who cherished every opportunity to watch them grow and be part of their lives. 

Sharon was known for her wonderful sense of humor and welcoming nature. She had a way of making people feel comfortable and was never afraid to share a funny observation or a clever remark. Above all, she loved her family and treasured the time she spent with them. 

Three years ago, Sharon returned to Washington with her family and settled in Kitsap County, where she spent her final years surrounded by those she loved. 

Sharon is survived by her son, Sean Husmoe, and his wife, Melissa; her granddaughters, Amanda and Ashley; her sister, Shelia, and her husband, Andy; her brother, Kevin, and his wife, Terry; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her parents, Joseph and Margaret “Peggy” Ryan; and her sister, Nora, and brother, Mike.

In keeping with Sharon’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or celebration of life. She chose to be cremated, with her ashes to be placed at a location that was special to her. 

Sharon lived a full life, loved deeply, and will be remembered most for her humor, her warmth, and the love she gave so freely to her family, especially her granddaughters.
