Ruth Glaser Smith, 90, of Kingston, Washington, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026.

Ruth was born on April 4, 1936, in Karlsruhe, Germany, to Philipp and Hilda Glaser. As a child, she lived through World War II, an experience that shaped her and gave rise to a lifetime of vivid stories. Her early years, marked by hardship and resilience, gave her a quiet strength that stayed with her always.

Ruth worked for many years as a housekeeper, taking pride and care in her work. In her free time, she found joy in knitting and crochet, creating countless handmade gifts for the people she loved, and she never turned down a good game of cards! Above all, Ruth was a devoted and loving mother, whose warmth and humor touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Ruth is survived by her children, Mario and wife Denise, James, Christina, Cindy, and Frankie; her grandchildren, Jimmy, Michelle and husband Ian, Kirk, Julia and husband Caleb, and Stephen; and her great-grandchildren, Jayden, Seleena, Oliver, Cordelia, Theodore, Penelope and Jonah. She is also survived by her sister, Bonnie.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date to honor Ruth's life.
